Silent Auction Items

Good Morning.  At the beginning of the year, I joined a gym with a friend and entered a challenge to loose weight and get in shape.  We went to almost every one of the classes.  (We missed one class to go to Texas for Antique Week.)  Anyways, at the end of the challenge, they have an After Party with a silent auction.  The money raised @ the silent auction, help support Paws & Stripes.  It's an organization that helps military veterans who suffer from PTS, and pairs them with shelter dogs.  [If you get a chance, please click on the link and take a moment to see what these folks are doing.  Its great work, and it helps our military veterans who have fought, and served our country to keep you free.]
I wanted to donate an item or two to the silent auction.  But, you know me.  I can't simply throw something down on the table.  I am happy [and proud] to say, that I donated three items to the silent action and helped raise $200 for this great, local cause. {big smile}
If you are a paper crafter, you know that presentation is pretty much everything! and who doesn't love to jazz up a 'package'!
I love to bake.  Love it.  So much so, that I have started seriously thinking about purchasing a food truck to tote and sell my wears out of.  Crazy but true.  I have a name, a logo, ideas on presentation, and I even have menu items, and how to serve.  But, I digress.  Baking.  I baked some cupcakes for one of the coaches, and he just loved them.  So, I made some more.  And then again.  And for our final weigh in, and measurement, I made even more.  So, the folks at the gym, have had my cupcakes.  No pies, or tarts, or cookies.  Just cupcakes.  One of my silent auction items was a half dozen cupcakes, along with a gift certificate for a free dozen, when you order a dozen.  Here is how I packaged the gift certificate:

Now, I hope that you are not surprised by the seam binding.  I love seam binding.  Just be surprised that I couldn't find a way to add a button.  {smile}.
For my next silent auction donation, was 4 passes to a local race track.  Not horses, cars!  My husband has been involved with auto racing for years, over 20.  He use to be crew chief for an Alcohol Dragster for over 10yrs.  He loves it.  But, he stepped down once we were married.  It takes a lot, and oh my do I mean a lot of your time.  Anyways, he managed to get me 4 passes to the Albuquerque National Dragway.  I didn't want to just put four passes on the table, held together with a paper clip.  So, this is how I presented them:

Yep, I love seam binding.  I wanted to do something masculine, [even though a woman 'won' the passes] so I went with the colors on the passes, and grabbed some pattern papers from my stash box.  I did two colors and a text paper.  All three are different widths, and lengths.  I did a banner/flag end and adhered them together.   I added a brad from My Mind's Eye that I had in my stash.  I wrapped some black seam binding around the glassine bag and tied it in a knot.  I strung a key from Prima to the seam binding knot.  I don't really 'do' masculine, so I'm pretty happy with my packaging.  {smile}
And finally, I created, ordered, and donated a bracelet from KEEP Collective.  I loved how it turned out.

I didn't have to do anything for this packaging.  KEEP Collective does a great job at that.  So, I simply added the charms (keys) to the bracelet (keeper) how I wanted them, and viola!  The bracelet is reversible; the other side is black.  So, if you want the black side, just turn your charms (keys) to the other side.  Easy peasy! and their products come in a great gift/jewelry box.
I had a great time last night.  Oh, and my girlfriend and I came in third place for our challenge.  (yeah for us!)  It was really nice to see everyone again.  We all have seen each other sweating, and huffing and puffing.  But last night, we were all looking good!  A big Thank You goes out to the coaches.  They didn't give up on any of us.  They kept us motivated and encouraged us to keep going, to keep pushing ourselves, and to simply stick with it.  Thank You Duke City Strength!  I'll be joining the next challenge, too!

Start Small

Howdy, and welcome.   My KEEP Collective party is coming to a close, but I did want to share one more idea with you: start small.  It's really the thought that counts!

         www.keepcollective.com/soc/qc33j
To start, purchase a keeper (bracelet, pendant, necklace, or key fob) and pick one or two keys (charms) to get started.  The keepers come in a variety of materials: leather, metal, or silicone.   Then over time, add onto your statement piece.  These add-on keys (charms) make the perfect gift during any celebration: birthday, anniversary, christmas, or any other holiday!
Get started today! and place an order, just in time for Mother's Day!  my party is ending soon, so hurry over to www.keepcollective.com/soc/qc33j  to place your order TODAY!

KEEP Collective Social

Howdy! and welcome.  I am hosting a KEEP Collective Social.  If you are not familiar with KEEP Collective, it is a 'new' to me company, that sells keys (charms) and keepers (bracelet, tags, key fobs, and necklaces).   By selling these pieces separately, it allows you, the designer, to create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry piece.  A piece that represents YOU, what you love, what you believe in, and what is important to you.  The 'what' can be a word, or phrase (live your dream, joy, etc) it can be a symbol (barbell, birthstone, heart, wishbone, running shoe, etc) or it can be initials (letters, or greek letters) or wishing stones (amethyst, lapis, etc)  or decorative stones (geo bar, mother of pearl, etc) and then there are decorative charms (keys) (star, horseshoe, arrow, etc) to convey YOUR message.
With you as the designer, to create a beautiful jewelry piece that consists of what is important to you, what has meaning to you, is endless!   So, why not create a special piece for that special MOM in your life, in just 10 easy steps!

1. Pick a jewelry piece (keepers) that she would love to wear: bracelet, necklace, pendant/tag.

2. Pick her favorite material to wear: leather*, mesh, or metal.
3. Pick her favorite color to wear: black, cool grey, spearmint, lavender, silver, gold, rose gold, hermatite, snake skin, came, etc.  (*leather bracelets are two-sided.  It's like getting two bracelets in one!)

4. Start selecting keys (charms) that are important to her:  birthstone bars, wish bone, her initials, words of faith, a cross, etc.

5.   Place these items in your virtual shopping cart.
6.   Fill-out the on-line order form.  (You fill out your address, and keep your credit card number with you.)
7.   Press 'submit' and your order is placed.
8.   Wait a few days, check your snail mailbox, and retrieve your package from KEEP Collective.
9.   Assemble your jewelry piece the way you want to present it, and place it in the decorative box.
10.  Add a wonderful Mother's Day card*, and viola! you are done!  [*all orders of $35/+ (in product), placed during this social, will receive a hand-made Mother's Day card from me, in your snail mailbox to the 'shipping address' you have entered.]

If you would like to host a social yourself, either in person, or on-line, please contact me, so we can get your party started!  Share these beautiful pieces with your family, friends, co-workers, the ladies at church, the ladies in your book club, the folks in your car pool, and so many more opportunities to share!  With qualifying party, you can get your uniquely YOU jewelry piece FREE!

WaterColor Blossoms; Card

Hello.  I made a card to say 'Thank You' to those ladies who placed orders @ Ashley's KEEP Collective party.  {smile}  The ladies she invited were funny, personable, and friendly.
The wonderful ladies over @ The Paper Players have a current challenge that fit this bill!  Their theme for their current challenge is to create a clean and simple card with a Spring theme! Yahoo!

And, the wonderfully talented ladies over @ Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge have a similar challenge: Welcome Spring, and use ribbon, lace, or trim on your project.  Easy!
and here is what I made:

Recipe:  I used crumb cake card stock for the card base.  The matt is made with crisp cantaloupe card stock.  I just love this color.  It's a softer version of the Coral.
I stamped the floral image in Black detail ink, on to white shimmer card stock.  I used re-inkers to water color the blossoms with aqua painter.  I used crisp cantaloupe, pink pirouette, blushing bride, coral, pear pizzazz, and pistachio pudding.

Once the blossoms were water colored, I sprayed the panel with a shimmer mist.  I really wanted the sparkle!  Finally, I hand-stamped the 'thank you' from the hand-scripted stamp set by Amuse Studio in Basic Black classic ink.

I used my paper piercer to create two tiny holes on each side of the blossom stems, and strung a thin, sheer, coral ribbon, and tied a simple, single bow.  I wanted another embellishment, so I added a trio of marshmallow sequins.  The water colored panel was adhered to the cantaloupe card stock with foam tape.
I plan on dropping these beauties in the mail, once I hear from KEEP Collective, that Ashley's party orders have been shipped.  {smile}  I hope the ladies really do love their cards and unique jewelry.  {smile}

Uniquely YOU!

Howdy.  and welcome to my little slice of blog-land.  I was a bit preoccupied yesterday.  I mailed a Birthday card to my mom, last week.  Yes, last week.  And everyday since her birthday, I have been checking-in with my folks to see if her hand-made card arrived.  And everyday, both my mom, and myself were disappointed that her card did NOT arrive.  So, I had to make a trip down to the USPS to see what I could do to track down her card, or to see if it was returned, or simply what was going on.  No luck.  {frown}  And then, I got a call from my mom.  Her card had finally arrived!  My mom lives in the same state as me - New Mexico.  She lives 270 miles south of me.  And so, I originally figured 4 days for the USPS to deliver her card.  No!  they look 7 days!  yes, 7 days!  Anyways, mom, was very happy with her card! {smile}

I {heart} spending time finding junk

I have a girlfriend who decided to host a KEEP Collective party, to help me sell some of these fabulously unique statement pieces {smile}.  Her 'party' is still open to allow her family and friends to look, create, and select the right pieces HERE.  So, if you too would like to place an order, please use this link.  If you would like to host your OWN party, please get in touch with me {smile}.  You can do an on-line party if that works best for your schedule.  {smile}

Thank you for looking!  I hope your weekend was good, productive, and relaxing! I had a good one!

Inspiration

Good Morning.  Yeah, I know it's early.  But, I just love the quiet at this time of day.  No one awake.  No one moving around.  Just me, and my coffee.  Love this time of day! {smile}
My brain is moving in different directions, my thoughts are going every which direction.  But, I'm sure most of you can relate to that.  Todays frenzy is about jewelry.  I know, how crazy is that for me. But, I want to share with you, my first show.  I signed up to be a jewelry designer for a new (to me) company:  KEEP Collective.  They sell bracelets, pendants, and key fobs (keepers), and some very beautiful and unique charms (keys).  So, you can create your very own one-of-a-kind inspirational jewelry piece: spell out what moves you, or add your monogram, or anything your heart desires!
Their bracelets (keepers) are reversible, so you can get two different looks and their charms (keys) are removable and repositional, so you can change the look easily!

Get 8 looks with one keeper and 2 keys.

Anyways, today is my very first 'showing'.  My sweet daughter is throwing a party, so she is the hostess.  {She is just the best!}  So, I have invited some of my friends, and some of her friends, to share this 'new' company with.  I know it will be a success, because these pieces are top quality! and simply gorgeous in real life!
I just wanted to share with you my good news.  But, if you just love this, or are simply courteous, stop by her house today 1130a -2p, and 'play' with some pieces.  You can place an order with me at her house, or on-line.  Either way you will love what you create!
Here are some beautiful pieces you can make:
spell out your destination

add words/letters/symbols that are important to you
add a time piece, or add a word, or spell it out!
make it a monogram
make your own custom set (rose gold and rose quartz)

The look, the design: is all YOU!  Use your favorite metals (silver, gold, rose gold), your favorite materials (leather, metal mesh), and add what YOU love (words, letters, stones, symbols).  Create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry piece or collection!  Buy a few pieces to start, and create your custom look over time.  Let your family and friends know how much you love KEEP Collective, and they can give you gift certificates so you can add to your collection, or simply start your own!

Well, I'm off to get my stuff together, get some breakfast, and do a quick run before I head into town!

here are some ideas as to what you can create:

I just love the gold charms with the brown leather double bracelet
a sweet collection of rose gold mesh bracelet, and ivory leather
or, a little something more grungy in black and white
a smaller statement, but a lot of impact

Please, check out my PAGE, and create your own one-of-a-kind, personalized jewelry piece!  Oh, if you would rather share this new discovery with your friends, host a party!  Just invite your guests, and we can spend an hour creating beautiful jewelry pieces OR host a party on-line!  Either way, you will get to enjoy the benefits and create something meaningful for yourself!
