Scratch 'n Sniff

April is right around the corner, and that is our last official month to meet for my card clubs. (I have changed May to an optional month, since I will be off the mainland for 2 weeks.) Here is one of the cards we will be making. All supplies used are Stampin' Up! The technique is called scratch 'n sniff. The cherrys are embossed, and that is what you will 'scratch 'n sniff' to release the cherry smell. How wonderful is that? (The other card will be posted in a week or so, its a surprise!) I ran the top white panel through the big shot on a texturize plate to give the hash marks. I like the simple, but pulled-together look of the card. The stamp set is Tart and Tangy. You can purchase this set from the big catalog. I got mine free during Sell-A-Bration! So how cool is that? This is the last day for Sell-A-Bration, so contact me today to enter your last order during Sell-A-Bration, and receive a free stamp set!
As always, thank you for looking, and please post a comment!

Stampapalooza Card Club Color Challenge

I have a wonderful group of ladies in my Sunday Card Club - Stampapalooza. For the month of March, we have a color challenge. You need to use a green (any shade), a blue (any shade), and one neutral (optional). You can only use Stampin' Up! products (new or retired). So, this is my card. Since I teach the club, I don't enter, but I do participate. I got my inspiration for this card from Debbie Olson. Stay posted, I'll upload the clubs entries tomorrow. The card base is bashful blue card stock. The matted piece is bermuda bay card stock. I used the greenhouse garden stamp set. I used bashful blue and bermuda bay classic inks. The words are from fundamental phrases, and I used the curly label punch to create the curvy tag. The ribbon is bashful blue satin.
Thank you for looking!

Scrapbook Class - April

Here's the layout for my scrapbook class in April. We meet on the 2nd Friday of the month. Join me for an evening of scrapbooking, friendship, and laughter April 9th, from 7p-9p, @ my home, here in New Mexico. Please RSVP by April 2nd, so I can get all the supplies together and prepare the kits. There is a non-refundable class fee of $18. You will receive all the supplies to create this 2-page layout with extras to spare! I had one complete 12" x 12" textured card stock, along with extra pieces of various colors. I also had a whole sheet of pattern paper, along with a few extra pieces. And extra stickers, including 5 border stickers. I will provide you with two different types of ribbon, 1 foot of each. The wide striped ribbon photographed, and a choice of brown grosgrain ribbon or blue silky ribbon. I added some corduroy buttons to give the pages some texture and depth. I used kraft and chocolate chip corduroy buttons, so you will receive a few of those, too. I didn't do a hundred photo mats, because I wanted the pages to have some special points of interest. There are a few journaling blocks, but you can always change those. The pages can be used to document that special man in your life: husband, dad, grandpa, a special uncle, or your wonderful son. These pages could also record a camping trip, a family reunion, or a father's day celebration.
As with all of my scrapbooking kits, you can request that the card stock is not cut, so you can truly customize and document your memories, just remember to bring your paper cutter to class.
If you are unable to attend, you can still purchase a kit. The kits come with a supplies list, and directions with color photos. If you need a kit mailed to you, there is a $5 shipping and handling fee.

Thank You Friend

Let me first thank all my wonderful friends and followers for all the words of praise and encouragement. This truly is a labor of love, but without your support it wouldn't mean anything. Thank you.
I need to change gears here, and put my efforts into doing a friend a favor. A friend at work had asked me if I could do some 'thank you' cards for her. You know that I said yes! She wants something with pink and black. So, here is what I came up with. She is not the type of person who embraces shabby chic, so I went classic.
My Stampin' Up! supplies are: the card stock is Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, and white. The inks are Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black classics. The greeting is Sincere Salutations, and a retired set Kind Thoughts. Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, and Basic Black satin ribbon. The flower stamp I purchased at one of those big box craft stores.
So, I will bring these cards into work tomorrow and see what she thinks. I hope she likes them. I feel a bit helpless because I'm not sure what she is looking for.
Thank you for looking. I am hoping to post the scrapbook page for April's scrapbook club tomorrow evening. We are going to be using 'Tailor Made' scrappin' kit.

SU! Birds Card Class #2

Here is another card we will be doing for my SU! Birds Card Class. I saw a card that Ann Fitton had done using this stamp set-Spring Song. And fell in love with it.
I see some stamp sets and think 'oh, thats cute' or 'I like the images, but how to use it?' It is really wonderful when you see a card, or a project using that stamp set, and you get that ah haa moment. This card is a little more subdued then the first card. I want to have a little something for everyone. The card base is bashful blue. Its a pretty color...just not very usable. I think that this blue color goes very well with the soft suede card stock. I want to use alot of product from the occassions mini. So, if you have purchased a stamp set you can 'see what else to do with it.' Thank you for looking.

SU! Birds Card Class

I was surfing the web a few weeks ago, and came across a beautiful (outstanding) card. I usually document the designer/website to give credit where credit is due. However, I didn't, so I don't have the designers name. Sorry. This is my take/CASE of her card. This is one of the cards you will make at my 'SU! Birds Card Class' in April. We will be making 5 different cards using 5 different stamp sets that showcase beautiful birds. I am hosting this card class on two different dates, so everyone has an opportunity to attend. Sunday, April 11th from 12noon-3p. OR Saturday, April 17th from 10a-1p. There is also two different prices. If you want to make one of each card (5 different designs) envelopes included, and a holder, there is a non-refundable fee $15. If you want to make two of each card (5 different designs) envelopes included, and a holder, there is a non-refundable fee for $25. Class size in limited, so register today. If you do not live in the Albuquerque area, or are unable to attend, you can purchase a kit. The shipping and handling is $5. All kits come with a supply list, and directions with color photos.

Mini Album for Mom

First off, let me apologize for not tending to my blog this week. I have been busy creating some wonderful (I think) classes. Here is one of those: Mini-Album for MOM. This is the cover of the mini album. There are 10 pages inside. I wanted to do some slight altering. For those who know altering, yes, you can do a little. I used Shades of Spring DSP throughout this mini album, along with various stamp sets still available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. This spring time mini album would also work wonderfully as a keep sake for that Easter Egg Hunt, or the arrival of a baby girl, or just to hold some photos and journal-ing of your little princess. This class is offered here at my home (New Mexico) on Saturday, April 24th from 12noon-3p. I haven't determined the cost yet, but I will keep you posted. If you would like to purchase a mail-able kit, shipping and handling is $5, and the kit comes with directions, supply list, and color photos. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Card Holder

This is the holder we will be making for our Spring Themed Card Set. I used Elegant Eggplant card stock to make the majority of the 'purse'. I added a piece of Old Olive card stock. I stamped 'happy birthday' on the bottom right of the card stock. I randomly stamped the same floral stamps on the white card stock. I used the scallop border punch on a strip of Elegant Eggplant card stock. I added some Certainly Celery glitter to the the seam. I really like how the card set, and the holder turned out. Sign up today to register for this fun filled event. There is a non-refundable fee of $20 for this class. You will make 2 of each card, 4 different designs, envelopes, and this holder. All supplies are provided, just bring your favorite adhesive. Light refreshments are served. If you don't live in/near the Albuquerque, NM area, but would still like a kit, please contact me. There will be a $5 shipping and handling fee. I cannot stamp your images, due to copy right laws.
Like always, your comments really do make my day!

March Project for Card Club

This is the project that we are making at card club this month - all supplies used are from Stampin' Up!. The pillow box is made with a die and the Big Shot. The flower is made with a sizzlit and white card stock. I sponged some mellow moss classic ink onto the flower to help define the dry embossing. The base is mellow moss card stock. The pattern paper is from the level 1 hostess gift (pattern paper pack III). The ribbon is white taffeta.

A Note of Thanks

This is a card I made for my mom. She helped me sooo much during the Chocolate Fantasy, that I really could NOT have done it without her. I purchased the Greenhouse Garden stamp set a few weeks past. It has turned into one of my favorite stamp sets, along with Friends 24-7. I used the new Sending Love DSP and the Chocolate Chip satin ribbon. I stamped the flourish is Sahara Sand on to Pretty in Pink card stock. The card base is Close to Cocoa card stock. The two step flowers were created using Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo classic inks. I stamped the 'note of thanks' in Chocolate Chip classic ink.
Thanks for looking. Please leave a comment, they always make my day!

A Happy Heart

For anyone who has ordered Stampin' Up! products from me knows, I always include a hand-stamped card with your order, as a small thank you for your business. This months scrapbook kit used the Love Sparkles scrappin' kit supplies, and so I only thought it would be fitting to create the hand-stamped card to go along with the scrapbook pages. I stamped the heart in So Saffron onto a scrap piece of white card stock and cut it out. I used dimensionals to give the heart some lift off the card. I had a scrap piece of the pattern paper from the kit, so I added that piece to the side of the card. Tied some chocolate chip ribbon around my matted, stamped piece, and there you have it! I thought this card, and the kit came out wonderfully! Clean, simple, and pretty. What more could you ask for?

Love Sparkles Scrapbook Pages

Wow! Talk about being behind! I apologize to all my followers, classmates, and club members. I got so far behind from participating in the Chocolate Fantasy this year, and all the after math, that I still haven't done the club cards/project.
Here is the scrapbook pages for the March Scrapbook club. I used pieces from the Love Sparkles Scrappin' kit. If you purchased a kit, you received everything to create this layout and more! Here's the extras: 3 sheets of stickers from the kit, 3 sheets of solid card stock, one sheet of pattern paper not featured here, 5 buttons, 2 pink epoxy brads, 2 corduroy brads, and extra photo corners in pretty in pink and chocolate chip.
For next months scrapbook kit, I will be using supplies from the 'Tailor Made' scrappin' kit. Remember, we meet the second Friday of the month, at my house, from 7p-9p. However, I have had a few ladies express an interest in hosting this event at their home. So, I have decided to give an incentive - a free shipping coupon! If you would like to host this event in your home, please contact me, as I have a few rules. Rules: 1- you can only host once. 2 - the first person who contacts me, and is eligible, is the hostess.

18th Annual Chocolate Fantasy Winners!-Students/Schools

This is the entry for CNM Students, the piece is entitled, "Longing". They took 1st place! This piece is hard to see, but it is all out of dark chocolate. There is a bed in front of the tree, and a person sitting on the end of the bed with their hands over their eyes. What a labor of love! Don't forget, to have your piece qualify for judging, it must be 100% edible and at least 80% chocolate. Isn't their work wonderful? We had fun, and really enjoyed ourselves.

18th Annual Chocolate Fantasy Winners!-Restaurants, Caterers, & Artists

This is the category that I participate in. I am an 'Artist'. The top picture is entitled, "The Deceptive Conqueror' by Luminara Loretto Inn and Spa. They did a wonderful job! Their candy looked like the canon balls and were wonderful! Luminara Loretto Inn and Spa won 1st place! The second picture is entitled, "Forged in Time", by St. Clair Winery & Bistro. What a grand piece. They took 2nd place. Everyone did wonderful work! They candies were scrumptious, and we all appeared to have a wonderful time! Don't forget, all entry pieces must be 100% edible and at least 80% chocolate.

18th Annual Chocolate Fantasy Winners!-Hotels & Casino

The top picture is entitled 'Escaping the Cyclops' by the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. They took second place. The second picture is entitled 'Vengeance' by the Encantado Resorts. They took 1st place. Now remember, for your piece to qualify, it must be 100% edible, and at least 80% chocolate. These competitors did a wonderful job!

18th Annual Chocolate Fantasy

Here was my entry to the 18th Annual Chocolate Fantasy! It's actually very small. The pillars are 7 inches tall, and my statues are 3 1/2 - 4 inches tall. I was very happy with my piece. However, I didn't win. But, I did have alot of fun, both in making my entry piece and participating! For those who voted for me, Thank you very much!

Scrapbook Class

I was browsing the Internet for some inspiration for a scrapbook class that I am doing this month. I stumbled upon 'stamp with jeanne' and her wonderful work. This two page layout used the Love Sparkles scrapbook kit. I just love these colors together. So this is not the exact pages we will be doing, but super close. Please return later this week for my version.
