Faux Silk

I love techniques that give a card, or any other craft item, some WOW! And I love faux silk. This technique gives small or background stamps an extra chance to shine. The card base is chocolate chip. The card is very vanilla, with bella blue DSP. I have also used kraft, barely banana, and close to cocoa card stock. The 'silk' piece is stamped in basic brown classic ink and the flowers are colored with a barely banana marker. I didn't want a bow to distract from the simple beauty of the card, so I just added a strip of chocolate chip 5/8" ribbon, and secured the ribbon strip to the card with two brads. To accent the flower motif, I punched two flowers and secured them with a rhinestone brad to the opposite lower corner.
I am teaching a 'Creatively Faux' technique class. You will learn four different faux techniques, but produce three wonderful cards, all for $12 (includes envelopes). Faux postage, faux silk, faux embossing/ghosting, and faux stitching are the techniques you will learn. I am holding this class at my home in New Mexico, on Wednesday the 23rd of September. If you are interested, please contact me. This is the card you will make for the faux silk technique.
