3-D Cards: Shadow Box Card

I am holding a 3-D card technique class at my home on Sunday @ 1:30p. We will be making a shadow box card, a diorama card, and a pop-up card. This is the Shadow Box card we will be making. (all cards are mailable.) I wanted to make a card from colors that aren't 'seen' too often. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!
I used dusty durango and basic gray cardstock. I used the background stamp French Filigree to give the front of this card some interest. On the gray cardstock, I stamped the definition of 'unique' from the stamp set Define Your Life. I heat embossed the definition in black. The flowers are from the Friends 24-7 stamp set, and stamped in whisper white craft ink. I added a greeting to the upper left corner of the card. I stamped the greeting from a stamp in the One of a Kind stamp set. I added two ribbon knots to the lower right corner of the card, to help balance the card.
Thank you for looking. Stay posted to see the other two cards we will be making on sunday.

Changed Card for the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

The pink card at the top left of the samples for the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack, we needed to change. That particular card used 4 different stamp sets. A bit much. We loved the color combination, but wanted to make it a bit simpler for the people attending.
Remember, seating is limited. So, if you will be in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area on Oct 24th, and would like to come out and make 30 Christmas Cards (5 each of 6 different designs) envelopes included, please contact me so I can hold a seat for you. It is a non-refundable fee of $45 (includes lunch). Door prizes will be handed out during this event. Just bring your favorite adhesive!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Here are the six different designs you will make at my Christmas card stamp-a-stack (you will make 5 cards of each design: total 30 cards). Please contact me if you are interested. The Christmas Stamp-a-Stack is being held on Saturday Oct 24th from 10a-2p. At Cross of Hope church on Taylor Ranch Rd. NW. The cost is $45. Lunch is included. [If you are unable to attend, but would like a packet (card stock is already cut and scored) your cost is $40. You would receive directions and photos on how we assembled the cards, but you would need to use your own stamps and inks.]
The top left pink card, we had to change a bit. That particular card used 4 different stamp sets. We used the same colors but altered the card a little. Check back to see the new revised card; that is one of my creations. The 2 card down on the right, we loved. It used non-traditional blues. We loved the different shape to it. It is a perfect size to hold a gift card. The bottom card on the right uses the new ornament stamp set and punch. We loved the traditional Christmas colors of this card. The card at the top on the left is another creation of mine! I wanted something both traditional (dove) and non-traditional (teal) but make a card that looks classy. The 2 card down on the right is a collection of all the colors. You can't see it very well, but the image is a snowflake from the new stamp set in the holiday mini. Very cute. Ok, the last card on the right is beautiful. You can't tell (I'm kinda new at photography) but the card base is elegant eggplant. We dry embossed the white cardstock. The strip of DSP is a soft suede with snowflakes (you can find it in the holiday mini). We used a large brad to hold the snowflakes to the card front. The snowflake is one of the new punches.
Hope to hear from you! Seating is limited, so if you are interested, please let me know!

Stampapalooza Card Club Box Challenge

These are the box/bags that my Sunday Card Club: Stampapalooza completed for their challenge today! Aren't they wonderful!? I am always excited to see what they have created! These are some talented women. Which bag/box would you have voted for? The winner (by club vote) was the 'Mummy'. The winner got to select any item from the prize box. I'm glad that this group of women enjoy participating in my crazy challenges. They did receive their instructions for next months challenge - "Recycle & Re-use". They are to alter a household item of their choice. I can't wait to see what these talented women come-up with next.

Faux Embossing/Ghosting

This card is the last card we did in the technique class 'Creatively Faux' last night. Thank you to all the ladies that came out and created these cards. This card enabled the ladies to learn two faux techniques: faux embossing/ghosting and faux stitching. The ladies seemed to have had a blast! We used the texture plates to give the card a little something. The colors were very repetitive. I used Almost Amethyst, to give everyone a break from my all time favorite pretty in pink and chocolate chip. I thought one more pink and brown card, and these ladies will string me up by my boot straps :)
To achieve this 'look', you first need to use the same color of ink as your card stock, when you initially stamp. Then stamp your image again with craft white ink. The second time you stamp, you want your images NOT to line up. You want them a little skew.
To achieve the faux stitching is very simple. Take a paper piercer and punch a series of holes in the paper, similar to that of a sewing machine. Then take a white gel pen and connect the holes. Not a lot of effort, but the finished product is pretty.
I added the crochet flower and corduroy button to soften the card a bit. I thought a solid ribbon would over power the whole look, so I chose the organza ribbon. I wanted white to be an accent color and not a main color.
Thank you for looking, and check back soon!

W'ink Card Club Homework

My W'ink card club met on Saturday. There were a few ladies who were not able to attend, and so the entries to our friendly challenge was a small number. But look! Aren't they just wonderful?! We always have fun and everyone comes up with the most creative ideas. Oh, the winner of each 'challenge' gets to select their prize out of a prize box. It has various items from Stampin' Up! that are all under $10. Nothing too fancy, just friendly. Thank you for looking!
