Well, I'm suppose to be on vacation, taking some time to relax and spend some quality time with my family. We are in Las Cruces, visiting my mom. And, can you guess what I brought along? Yes, I brought card crafting supplies. (Alot of card crafting supplies.) When we get back into town, I am dashing off to a christmas card stamp camp meeting. And, I'll admit that I don't always have time to craft, so I wanted to complete a few more card samples before I go to the meeting. Here, is one more card sample. I have a weakness for non-traditional christmas colors. Oh, and those who know me, know that if I can put on some ribbon and a button (or two) my craft project is complete! :}
Ok, all supplies are from Stampin' Up!, and here is how I did it... the card base is certainly celery card stock. The tree stamp is from the Snow Swirled stamp set. The tree is stamped in certainly celery classic ink, on the white shimmer card stock. I attached a green button to the top of the tree with a glue dot. The tree is then matted on a piece of pretty in pink card stock. The blue piece, is bashful blue card stock. There are three different sizes of snow flakes in the Snow Swirled stamp set. I used the large and medium sized snow flakes. The large snow flake was stamped in bashful blue classic ink, and the medium snow flake was stamped in white craft ink. I stamped the blue snowflakes first, and then the white snow flakes. After all the snow flakes were stamped, I added the white embossing powder. I did it that way, so the snow flakes would not be completely covered in embossing powder. I wanted them sorta half embossed. To me, it gives the blue background a vintage look. Not finished or polished look. I used the scallop border punch to create the scalloped edge. I wrapped a piece of pink taffeta ribbon around the blue card stock. I then tied a bow with a piece of pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon around the pink taffeta ribbon. Attached a blue button to the pink ribbon with a glue dot. The greeting is stamped in old olive classic ink. (The buttons are from the Sherbet designer buttons.) The buttons appear a bit 'un-finished', but at this point I am at a loss as to how to fix it. The only thing that automatically comes to mind, is to tie a sliver of shimmer white card stock through the thread holes. Maybe, if it keeps bothering me, I'll fuss with it some more.
