Bunco One

Whew.  I'm at the end of my big reveal!  I hope you have been inspired and found something creative.  This last prize, number one, is certainly more 'farmland' than you can imagine!
So, let me start with the gift tag.   I used retired pattern papers from Cosmo Cricket and Stampin' Up!.  Both pattern papers embrace farm cooking!  I used the same layout as the previous cards.

the prize:

Ok.  barn red.  chicken wire.  altered clothes pins.  and a retro pattern.  I purchased the simple frame from a big box store.  Painted it literally bard red.  I used sand paper to distress the frame.  I sealed the distress with a clear coat.  I used my husbands staple gun to adhere the chicken wire to the inside of the frame.  I cut the pattern paper to fit inside the frame.  To decorate the clothes pins, I painted them white.  Then adhered a small strip of the pattern paper to the top of the clothes pin.  I stamped a few inspiring words at the front of the clothes pin.  I hot glued a paper blossom and vintage crochet trim bow over the middle section of the pin.  I also added a small wooden button below the bow.  I felt it gave a more 'finished' look.
This beauty can be hung on the wall, or stand on a counter.  I wanted the recipient of this prize to have choices {smile}.  Choices are good!

Thank you for stopping by and having a look around!  Hope you get a chance to create something today!

retro Kitchen

Thank you for stopping by my blog, to see what I've been creating.  I know that I have been a bit late on a few posts and I apologize.  I know that I am in the same boat as a lot of other folks, with life being too busy.  I think I have a new 'schedule' to get more accomplished.  So, let's see if my new time management schedule does actually work.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.
It's Saturday, and that means that its time for another challenge over @ Our Creative Corner.  Meihsia, is our hostess again this week.  If you haven't seen her work, she does shabby chic/vintage very well.  She has a great eye for soft and delicate!  Just wonderfully inspiring creations.  Anyways, she would like us to make a Clean and Simple card featuring something you would find in a kitchen.  Ok, here is my problem, I have a very hard time creating clean and simple.  I don't know if it is all the white space, or the fact that I can't load the card with embellishments.
Here is what I created:

When I sat down to create this card, I knew that I wanted to use pattern paper that looks like something from a kitchen; wall paper, table cloth (Domestic Goddess DSP).  You get the idea.  I also knew the stamp set I was going to use: Compliments to the Chef .  So, I sat down at my craft table and got to work.  I stamped the flatware in VersaMark, and used silver embossing powder to heat emboss that image.  I just love the detail in the flatware.  So, I made sure to use fine embossing powder.  There is nothing worse than a blob of embossing powder to ruin your image. I had a very had time restraining myself from adding layers and embellishments.  I really wanted to add a button somewhere.  But, I restrained myself and created a CAS card for Meihsia's challenge {smile}.
When I finished, I just had to create another card.  Same products, just not CAS.  Here is that card:

I hope that you play along with us @ Our Creative Corner.  We would love to see what you make, and I'm sure you'd love to share your work with the rest of us in blogland!
Thank you for looking, and have a wonderful weekend!

hello baby

As I mentioned yesterday, I have made another baby card.  But this card is Clean And Simple.   I used the sketch from the Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge.  This is a super group of ladies.  They are all so talented.  If you have a chance to play along, you should!
Here is this weeks sketch:

I used my Stampin' Up! supplies to create this card:

I just love how soft and sweet this card turned-out.  I used pattern paper from the same package: Domestic Goddess DSP.  The card base and the only matt is pool party card stock.  The fancy shape of the main image was created using the labels collection die.  I love how this shape looks like a cloud.  The stamp is an ala carte stamp:  Bringing Baby.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.   I thought the font of this sentiment really worked well with the image.  The crocheted flower is from the fleurettes II package.  The pool party brad is from the printed designer brads collection.   Did you notice the scalloped edge of the scallop trim?  That was created with the adorning accents die.  I think it adds some softness and whimsy.
Thank you for looking, and I hope that you can play along with us @ Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge.

MoJo 204 - thanks

Well, the weekend is coming to a close, and I found some time to complete another card!  Actually, if you placed a Stampin' Up! order with me this week, you will receive this card in the mail.  *I send a blank, un-signed card with every order.  That way, you always have a card on hand, in case you need one at the last minute, or if nothing else, you have an idea or inspiration.
Here is the sketch for MoJo Monday #204:

Here is my card:

I used some of the new stuff from Stampin' Up!  I used Domestic Goddess DSP and Now You're Cooking stamp set.  I used a small font 'thanks', that came from another SU! stamp set.  I colored the stamp image with markers: spatula, utensils, cups, and oven mitt.  I added some white satin ribbon, and a few silver brads at the upper left corner to secure the photo corner.
Thank you for looking, and this up coming week, is going to be jammed packed with some various inspiration.  I will be announcing some very good news on Monday, so stay tuned!

Kitchen Diva

(click on the photos to enlarge, to really see the detail)

Good Morning! and happy Friday!  I'm still @ Convention, so there should be several posts today.  Hopefully 3, but I'm pretty sure I can squeeze two in.  So, for my first:

 Domestic Goddess

Stampin' Up! has a wonderful line called, 'Domestic Goddess' (pg. 52-53, in the Big Idea & Catalog) and I just love this one too!  I love to cook, and I make cakes only for folks I know.  So, I just love the papers and stamps that go in this collection.  So, without any further ado, here is a creative look, at what the design team over @ Stampin' Up! have done with these products!

There are two stamp sets in this collection, Now You're Cooking, and House & Home.  Both of these sets have that 50's feel with their graphics and imagery.  The Designer Series Paper that is in this collection is, 'Domestic Goddess'.  (I know, not a surprise on the name.)  But the colors in this collection really have that vintage 50's feel!  Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  There are table-cloth-like pattern papers, and various 'cooking' motifs on some of the other pattern papers.  The whole collection has a funky, fabulous 50's feel to it! and I think its totally fresh and fun!
I think this line is appealing to all ages, even if you weren't around in the 50's, it has that 'grandma' feel to it.  A sense of 'home', 'comfort' and simpler times.

This portable ironing board is actually featured in the Big Idea & Catalog, on page 52.  It's totally cute and funky fun!

Thank you for looking, and stay tuned for some other fabulous Convention photos!
