colored rolled flowers

It's Thursday, and that means we are one more day closer to the weekend!  I'm having my second Christmas card class this weekend.  My SIL is racing this weekend also.  So, there is alot planned.  The lovely ladies over at Creative Sketches have a wonderful color challenge for us (including you) this week.  Here is the color inspiration:

The colors for this weeks challenge are: soft suede, basic black, crumb cake, and cajun craze.  Sounds like masculine themes.
Here is the card I created:

This card was alot of fun to create.  I inked one of my all time favorite stamp sets: Friends 24-7.   I just love the wonderful images in this stamp set.  But, it is retired.  I created my own rolled flowers.  I used the First Edition DSP to get the text paper.  I made my own shimmer mist with cajun craze re-inker.  I punched basic black and crumb cake dsp to create the leaves.  I stamped the chair image in soft suede.  The sentiment, 'cherish' is a play on words.  The image is a chair.  I thought is was 'cute'.  Join us for this week's color challenge!  Who knows, you may be our next winner of our challenge!

Thank-you

Sept 01, 2009 was the first day we can place an order from Stampin' Up! holiday mini catalog! There are alot of wonderful stamp sets, and accessories! Who can only pick one!
Well, I want to Thank all my supporters for their orders on Sept 01. So, in each of their orders (due to arrive on Wednesday) I made this card, and stamped a coordinating envelope, for you to give. The card and envelope are sealed in a clear bag, so they won't get damaged in transport.
I have a weakness for browns and pinks, what can I say. The card base is Pretty in Pink card stock. The top half of the card is kraft card stock. I stamped the swirl is from Baroque Motifs, stamped in Sahara Sand classic ink. The greeting is from a hostess level 2 set Kind & Caring Thoughts, stamped in Close to Cocoa classic ink. The bottom half of the card is naturals card stock. I stamped En Francais in Sahara Sand classic ink. I stamped a flower from the Flower Fancy stamp set, in Pretty in Pink classic ink. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain. I think this card has a simple but chic look to it. You can easily dress it up with a button, or fabric flower, or a decorative brad.
