Good Morning to you. I hope this day finds you well. We have had a bit of rain here early this week. And what a welcomed sight. We didn't get as much snow this past winter as we should have, so the moisture was very much needed. It also gave us all a chance to open our windows and let-in some fresh, cool, mountain air into our homes. We reached 72 as our high. It was pretty wonderful!
Sorry for the rambling. The lovely ladies over @ Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge have an interesting sketch for you to try this week. I must admit, I was a bit stumped by it. Here is the sketch:
Here is what I created:
For those who follow me, this is not my typical card. This CAS card was created out of loss of creativity. The three smaller circles had me stumped. I stared and stared at the sketch. I thought about doing a floral image in the main circle and adding butterflies in place of the smaller circle trio. Maybe I should have done that.
Hind sight is 20-20, right? Anyways, I like my card. I used textured Pink pirouette as my main background paper. I added a small strip of First Edition DSP to the bottom of the card. I thought the 'weight' of the text would ground the card. I wanted a pop of color, so I added a strip of scallop trim pool party card stock at the seam. I covered the seam with some Soft suede taffeta ribbon.
The main circle is water color paper. I stamped the image from the Easy Events stamp set, with Black Staz-On ink. And used re-inkers and my aqua pen to 'color' the image.
I swiped my glue pen across the frosting and sprinkled on some dazzling diamond glitter. To top it off, I added a half faux pearl!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you have a chance to play along with us @ Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge. See ya soon!
