Happy Saturday! This year is flying by, I tell ya! As we all get ready for Thanksgiving, please take a moment out of your busy lives to tell your loved ones, how much you care for them, and need them in your life. Wendy J. from Our Creative Corner has a wonderful challenge for you this week: Pumpkin. Make either the color pumpkin or the object your main focus. Sounds pretty easy, huh? The creative freedom is enormous. But, good golly I struggled with this one. So, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday to help get this card together.
For those who know me, this card is pretty flat. Lacks some dimension, and some extra pieces. But, I couldn't 'fix' this card to save my life. So, it's flat. It's basic. But, it's pretty! and the color Pumpkin is the main focus!
Here is the sketch I was working with:
Here is my card:
I couldn't make the image of a pumpkin really work. Crazy, I know. I even tried using the pumpkin image on a 'seed' packet. I couldn't even get pumpkin colored ribbon to work. Then, I found a few scraps of this pretty orange pattern paper. The flower is from the orange collection. The stamp is from a stamp set that is at least 2/+ years ago. I sponged all the edges with a dark beige to help give the pattern paper pieces some division.
I hope that you play along with us @ Our Creative Corner. Who knows, maybe you can get that pumpkin to work!

Oh yes ... it is very pretty Sharon! I think this patterned paper is gorgeous and you have teamed it beautifully together with the orange and the blue papers ... a lovely sentiment and a lovely card!
Love love love this card. Authentique Gatherings is beautiful paper! --Charlene
Sharon, your card is beautiful! Awesome take on the sketch and I really like the color theme too! Thanks for having me over at the OCC this week...hugs ~Silke~
I agree - your papers are a great match. I went with the MM sketch too. Isn't it funny how sometimes the seemingly 'easy' ones throw us!
What a gorgeous card, Sharon!! Pure eye candy!
Whoa, Sharon! Who needs a pumpkin when you have poppies?! I love how the pearl on the sentiment match the design in the paper so perfectly. That 3-d flower is awesome! Gorgeous card, all around! Big hugs!
I think this is just lovely. The simple design doesn't need any extra embellishments when you have such pretty paper! The addition of the flower just ties everything together. Hope you had a great week!
