Gift Card Tin

Welcome.  There were a few teenagers that we needed to shop for, for Christmas, and well, I don't really know what they want.  So, we purchased a few gift cards.  But now, how do I present the gift cards?  I don't want it be to be lame, or just stupid.  So, here is what I came up with...
I took a hinge lid tin, and fastened the gift card to the top.  I used scraps of pattern paper I already had on hand to decorate.  I also included a 'tag' to the inside.  (To see another 'zipper' gift card holder, click here.)
Here is the outside:

I used cherry cobbler card stock for the base.  The gift card is sandwiched under the pool party card stock.  I used some scrap pattern paper I had left over from our holiday card.  I stamped the pointing finger to draw attention to the 'zipper'.  I found this wonderfully striped washi tape, so I added that on top of the 'zipper'.
Here is the inside of the lid:

I adhered the pattern paper to the very vanilla card stock before I used a die to cut the card stock.  I stamped the greeting in basic black classic ink.  I used scraps of pattern paper from the Happy Trails line of Glitz paper to cover the Hershey's chocolates.  (To see the holiday card I made with this same pattern paper, click here.)
Thank you for stopping by.  Tomorrow, I'll share an altered bag I decorated for my oldest grandchild.  Hope to have you stop by.

Happy Crafting!  hugs, Sharon W.

Merry Christmas

I wanted to share with you our family's official Christmas card for this year. This is the prototype. The actual one will have the images moved up a bit. (Not more than 1/4"). I think it has turned out beautifully. Most of our family and friends will receive this card. We know a few people who prefer the store bought kind, so...
The weather out here has been bitter cold and snowy, and all the shades of white have crept into my life. For people who love color, this card can be a bit disappointing/overwhelming. But, I like how it turned out.
Recipe: the solid card stock is Sahara Sand and Shimmer white (Stampin' Up!), the textured card stock is Glass Slipper. The pattern paper is from the Christmas Mint collection. I used three different stamp sets for this card; Sleigh Ride, Poinsettia & Boxwood, & Signature Christmas. The reindeer was stamped in Sahara Sand classic ink, and the poinsettia and 'Noel' were stamped in Blush Blossom classic ink, both are from Stampin' Up! I adhered three tiny pearl halves onto the flower center, and a clear rhinestone for the reindeer's nose. The ribbon is from Paper Mart. I used two punches from Stampin' Up!. The 1 1/2" circle punch for the flower and the curly label punch for the 'Noel'.
Thank you for looking, and as always, comments really do make my day.
May the joy and love you feel this holiday season extend to every day throughout the year, Merry Christmas.
