A Note of Thanks

Wow, already Wednesday.  This week is just flying by.  I am back to work, still battling this kidney infection, and now I believe I have a sinus cold.  gotta love the winter.  So, this post will be short.  Sorry.

Anyway, the creative gals over @ Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge have a great new sketch for you to play with.  Just remember to use your Stampin' Up! supplies.

Here is the sketch:

When I first saw this sketch, I did have to brainstorm for a day or so.  I knew what I wanted to do, just had to find the 'right' paper and stamps.  The card I created isn't what I originally had in mind.  I wanted to use a floral stamp as the main image.  But, you know how that goes.  And this is what I have created:

I used some of the new DSP: Attic Boutique.  I also used two stamp sets:  Rue des Fleurs, and Thank You Kindly.  The diagonal piece in the sketch really threw me.  I first thought of tying ribbon on the bias.  But, I like the 'sash' of vellum, better.  I only used one ink pad: Soft Suede classic ink.
Thank you for stopping by! I am off to bed.  I have work later this morning, and I need to get some rest.

Kind Thanks

Holy Moly, where has the week gone?  Let me first apologize for not posting this week.  Besides working full-time, and taking care of my granddaughter since Wednesday, this is my week of call (Mon - Fri).  So, I'm a bit pulled in every direction.  Second, let me say 'Thank You' to all of you who have not given up on me, and have continued to check back, to see what I have crafted.
This week, over @ Sketch Frenzy Friday, Kim is our sketch designer.  Kim has always done a wonderful job, and  this week is no exception.  Kim makes these wonderful, user-friendly sketches, that are just a delight to work with.  So, you are invited to play along with us, but please use your Stampin' Up! supplies.
Here is Kim's sketch:

And here is my card:

And yes, this card is done in my usual fashion: alot of different products. {smile}.  I used three different stamp sets: Thank You Kindly, Best Friends Forever, and Everything Eleanor.  Plus, Attic Boutique DSP, very vanilla seam binding, a neutral button, lots of tags die, some iridescent ice embossing powder, bakers twine, and some foam tape.  I only used three ink pads: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Delightful Daffodil classic inks.
I'd love to see what you create!  So join us and post on our challenge blog:  Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Now, continue on with our blog hop, and see what Tammy Fite has created.

CS Color Challenge

We are having a color challenge over @ Creative Sketches. The colors: Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, and Elegant Eggplant. And here is my card! I used all Stampin' Up! products.
Here is how I made my card: The card itself is Very Vanilla cardstock. I added a top panel of Bashful Blue. I first stamped it with the Sanded background stamp, in Bashful Blue classic ink. I then ran it through the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. (I wanted the panel to have some depth.) I used Whisper White cardstock to create my flower. It is actually cut with the Birds & Bloom die. I sprayed the flower with my Frost White Shimmer Mist and crinkled the flower. I added a Daffodil Delight brad to hold the flower together. I added a scrap piece of cream colored tulle behind the flower to soften it a bit. I used First Edition DSP and my leaves die to create the sprigs of leaves poking out behind the flower. I stamped the butterfly, from Clearly for You stamp set, in Elegant Eggplant classic ink and fussy cut it out. I had a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, so I cut this cute little tag, and stamped 'A NOTE OF THANKS', from the Thank You Kindly stamp set, in Bashful Blue classic ink.
If you have a chance, come play with us over @ Creative Sketches, and give this color challenge a try. You just might surprise yourself, on how easy these colors come together. Upload your creation and insert a hyper link back to your blog! Its just that easy!

Saturday Technique Card Club

Good Morning! If you are in my Saturday Technique Card Club, here are the two cards we will be making today.
The card on the left features the 'spot light' technique and the stamping technique called 'tapping'. The tool usage we will be working with are blender pens and the stamp-a-ma-jig.
The card on the right features the 'masking' technique. The tool usage we will be working with is the Big Shot.
The project for today's club is: tile coasters. We will be stamping on tumbled tiles to make our own coasters.
Thank you for looking, and as always, posting a comment really does make my day!

Thank You, for your order

When someone places an order with me, I always include a hand-stamped, blank card in their order. I think that its nice to have a few cards on hand, just in case. I have some Stampin' Up! customers who keep all these cards, and I have some customers to actually use them. I'm happy either way. So, back to this card...
I saw the wonderfully creative cards Carrie Gaskin had done on Stamping 411. And that is where I saw this pretty stylish card. I changed the colors, and added some ribbon. I like how it turned out.
Don't forget to post a comment on the 'color renovation' entry for your chance to win some blog candy!
